Alaska Robotics Mini-Con will take place on and we hope to have your support in making it another great event for the community.
In 2016 we hosted Juneau’s first-ever comic convention and it exceeded our wildest expectations. Thousands of kids and adults flocked to downtown Juneau to meet award winning authors, filmmakers and illustrators and participate in workshops and presentations given by our guests. This year we want to build on our successes and we would love to have your help.
Comic conventions are more than just comics. They’ve grown into festivals celebrating popular culture and visual arts. Our tiny convention has taken on much of that same spirit, incorporating costumes, games and music alongside illustration, zines and comics.
There were sketching sessions where kids could draw with renowned artists and many of our visiting guests were able to visit public schools to work with students of all ages.
In addition to the convention, we host a three day comics camp for working professionals. The sense of community and collective inspiration of the camp was remarkable and we’re excited to bring together a new group this year.

Other Ways to Contribute
- Fish & Game – We want to treat our out of state guests right and that means good food at our artist camp. Donations of fish or game will be incorporated into meals by our camp cook.
- Financial Aid – We have camp attendees from all over the world. Your direct sponsorship of a camp attendee could make it possible for them to attend.
Exhibit or Participate!
If you or your business would like to exhibit at the event, please fill out the Exhibitor Application form. We are also accepting applications from student organizations if you know any young artists might want to share their comics or artwork.
We would love to see downtown businesses embrace the spirit of the event. Please contact us if you would like to host an related event. Eg: Fashion Illustration Workshop, Drink & Draw, Cosplay Costume Contest, etc.
