12pm – 1pm ~ The Cartoonists Club w/ Raina Telgemeier & Scott McCloud
Makayla is bursting with ideas but doesn’t know how to make them into a story. Howard loves to draw, but he struggles to come up with ideas and his dad thinks comics are a waste of time. Lynda constantly draws in her sketchbook but keeps focusing on what she feels are mistakes, and Art simply loves being creative and is excited to try something new. They come together to form The Cartoonists Club, where kids can learn about making comics and use their creativity and imagination for their own storytelling adventures!

1pm – 2pm ~ The Fantastic Four Movie! …is based on a comic book and the current writer of those comics book is in this room talking about comic books.
Ryan North is the writer of Fantastic Four and One World Under Doom. I imagine he will be discussing those worlds and the mechanics of the characters inhabiting them. But who knows, it’s possible he will veer into other realms. He did also write How To Take Over The World, How To Invent Everything, and the semi-fictional graphic novel adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five, as well as Squirrel Girl, Adventure Time, and Dinosaur Comics. He’s written a lot. But we’re pretty sure the focus in this talk will be DOOOOOOM and his four buds.

2pm – 3pm ~ Molly of Denali Panel – Writing for Television
Molly of Denali is a widely celebrated, award-winning animated series which features the work of outstanding Juneau-based writers. Join us for a panel talk on writing for television and writing for Molly. Featuring X̱ʼunei Lance Twitchell, Joe Yates, and Alaska State Writer Laureate, Vera Starbard.

3pm – 4pm ~ Kazu Kibuishi – Amulet & Beyond
